After acquiring an Associate of Arts degree at Phoenix Community College in Arizona, Jeff decided to get out of the heat for a while and set his sights on the big city of Los Angeles. There, he decided to follow his true love, photography, so he looked into attending the best commercial photography school in the nation, the Art Center College of Design, located amongst the mountains of Pasadena and overlooking the Rose Bowl.

During his tenure, Jeff got the chance to study with some of the top commercial photographers, well experienced in both the fashion and still life fields. Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, Jeff stayed in the L.A. area to garnish the opportunity to assist some of the best and most popular photographers such as Herb Ritts. With Herb, he had the chance to work with some of the world's most famous celebrities of today, from Tina Turner and Mel Gibson, to having the fortunate opportunity to attend the weddings of such superstars of Madonna and Olivia Newton-John.

After his stay in the Los Angeles area for a few years, he realized that it was saturated with photographers so he decided to return to his hometown of Phoenix, Arizona. Upon his return, he continued freelancing for a few years, all the while wanting to attain his dream of having his own photography studio someday. In February of 1999, that dream came true as Studio 18 Photography became a reality. He teamed up with Jerry Ketelhut and they combined their skills to create this unique photo studio.

The Culinary Institute of America in Hyde park, New York, may have given Jerry his degree, but his training and love for food began at the age of three in Grandma Ketelhut's kitchen, in Benton Harbor, Michigan. His career began in food service by helping Grandma Ketelhut make her famous "potato doughnuts".

Jerry is an Arizona native and for the past 9 years has been working as Food/Environmental Service Director at John C. Lincoln Hospital North Mountain, in Phoenix, Arizona. He won the Silver Bowl Award at the CIA for the most outstanding student and to this day serves his community in several aspects. He is on the Board of Directors for Central Arizona Shelter Services, which is the largest homeless shelter in the state of Arizona, assisting others less fortunate to gain self-sufficiency.

Jerry is an avid pet lover and enjoys fishing, traveling and entertaining friends at his home. He has always had a fascination for photography, starting with a Yashica camera, given to him by his parents for his 8th grade graduation. It is a natural fit with his business background and Jeff's photographic skills that makes Studio 18 Photography what it is today.
